An analysis of C-suite job specifications used in recruiting points to a cause: misalignment between expectations, responsibilities assigned, and skills required. The authors suggest that poor design of C-suite jobs can block executives from succeeding in their roles, and they provide a framework for designing well-aligned jobs.
