Illustrations consist of 279 figures that serve as aids to identification.Common names for the more important commercial fishes are provided in order to achieve uniformity of nomenclature for purposes of catch statistics and law enforcement. To this end the preferred common name is always placed immediately under the scientific name. Accounts are given of every native inshore fish that seems to have validly recorded from Hawaiian waters. | ||
