Moses incorporates a wide range of black nationalist perspectives, including African American capitalists Paul Cuffe and James Forten, Robert Alexander Young from his "Ethiopian Manifesto," and more well-known voices such as those of Marcus Garvey, W.E.B. Du Bois, and others.
