By detailing his life from his time as a precocious high school student visiting Navajo and Hopi homelands to his flight from authorities in Suriname to receiving the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres from the French Minister of Culture, Price guides readers through hallowed halls and jungle paths to illuminate the truths of a unique life. These same adventures also allow readers to look over Price's shoulders-and those of his wife and research partner, Sally Price-and through his field notes as he researched and wrote some of the most important books of the twentieth century.
