|a This book provides a concise account of the participatory dimensions of Colombia's 'territorial peace' agenda. It examines both how it was envisaged during the peace process and what it currently looks like at a local level. Experiences across two marginalized communities are compared: Tibú, a rural municipality close to the Venezuelan border, and Buenaventura, a Pacific port which remains Colombia's poorest city. By examining how people in these two contrasting territories are participating in peace, the authors explore different forms of local agency, the progress they have, or have not, made, and the lessons that these local experiences might offer for peacebuilding elsewhere.
