| 500 | |a "The present bibliography of French contributions to Mesoamerican studies aims to several purposes. For more than a century, Spanish, English and French were the three official languages of the International Congresses of Americanists. With this bibliographical essay, we wish, then, 1) to make an assessment of the existing situation; 2) to provide our colleagues with the most complete number of references and draw their attention on unknown contributions frequently illustrated with forgotten objects; the publications of our colleague Leonardo López Luján on the history of archaeology, related to the Great Temple of Mexico-Tenochtitlan, exemplify the importance of this approach; 3) to evaluate the contribution of the most recent formations; 4) last but not least, to insist upon the necessary confrontation of methods and points of view."--Page ii | ||
