A companion to Like Wildfire: The Rhetoric of the Civil Rights Sit-Ins, this concentrated collection of essays examines the origins and rhetorical methods of five distinct civil rights sit-ins of 1960, in Greenville, South Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina; and neighboring Rock Hill, South Carolina; Louisville, Kentucky; and New Orleans, Louisiana. While these protests shared common influences and intentions, each demonstration was singular in its execution and reception.
