Er betrachtet Jüngers politische Ästhetikund seine Sprachauffassung im Lichte der philosophischen Tradition (von Herder bis Heidegger, von Rousseau bis Rivarol) und des literarischen Spannungsfeldes zwischen Romantik (Schlegel) und Moderne (Jelinek), wobei der Weg von den Kriegstagebüchern über die politische Publizistik der Zwischenkriegszeit bis hin zum erzählerischen Œuvre der Gegenwart führt.
