The "YAML Fundamentals" course helps beginners with the required skills to develop YAML documents. Most common languages such as Go, Python, Java, C#, and so on provide support for YAML. You will see YAML being used in various ways in the industry for web service communication, configuration management, configuration files, data storage, and more. In this course, you will learn about YAML, and compare YAML with HTML, JSON, and XML. You will look at YAML structure, data types in YAML, and complex mapping. After that, you will learn to document multiple YAML documents in a single file, handle multi-line strings, and look at the advanced features of YAML (tags, anchors, chomping, and so on.). Following that, you will look at representing data using YAML, see different styles of documenting YAML, and tools and technologies leveraging YAML data serialization format. Next, you will be creating and validating YAML using VS Code Editor, using Python to read and extract data from YAML documents, and using Python to determine the data types in YAML documents. Finally, you will be reviewing examples of the Kubernetes YAML document and Ansible YAML playbook. By the end of this course, you will learn the fundamentals of YAML and build skills to develop a properly structured YAML document from scratch.
