|a "Lyft has made the transition from a single monolithic service to 300+ microservices by leveraging Lyft's open source proxy Envoy. Daniel Hochman and Jose Nino begin with a brief history of the project and its rollout at Lyft, before focusing on deployment and configuration choices and how they can affect developer productivity. You'll explore the Envoy ecosystem and the ancillary services that allow operating the service mesh in a secure, reliable, and fast manner, as well as the observability tools Lyft uses that take advantage of Envoy's stats and logging to minimize the burden of managing and understanding a complex architecture. The techniques and tools presented are gaining popularity as industry best practices and are broadly applicable to internet-scale services with varying stacks and network topologies. This session was recorded at the 2019 O'Reilly Velocity Conference in San Jose."--Resource description page
