Mary M. Somervilie is University Librarian and Professor at the University of Colorado Denver and Library Director at the Auraria Library, a tri-institutional organization serving the University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Community College of Denver, USA. Her leadership approach uses participatory design to create workplace learning systems and professional information practices that support information sharing and knowledge creation for informed action. In 2010, she received the Distinguished Scholar Award for a lifetime of applied research accomplishments from the School of Library and Information Science at San Jose State University, California, USA.
