Sumario:This Excel spreadsheet uses the Freundlich isotherm equation to calculate the capacity of granular activated corbon for removal of a user specified organic compound from water. A table is provided with values of the Freundlich constants needed for the calculation for 72 organic compounds. The spreadsheet calculates the rate of organic removal, the rate of GAC use per hour, and the estimated lifetime of the GAC based on a user specified amount of GAC to be used. There is a U.S. version and an S.I. version. The Freundlich Isotherm equation is used to calculate the rate of organic removal per unit mass of granular activated carbon.
