Sumario:The required pipe wall thickness for given fluid pressure, pipe size and pipe properties is specified by ASME and API codes along with maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) for given pipe size, wall thickness, and properties. This spreadsheet has a worksheet that calculates the minimum required pipe wall thickness for user entered values of pipe O.D. (outside diameter), fluid pressure, pipe material, and configuration parameters: y (temperature coefficient), E (longitudinal quality factor), S (allowable unit stress), and A (end condition factor). Another worksheet calculates the MAWP for user-entered values of pipe O.D., pipe wall thickness, and the parameters: y, E, S, and A. Links are provided to AccessEngineering sources for obtaining y, E, S, and A values.
