Sumario:The moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) process is attractive for wastewater treatment because of its small footprint and simplicity of operation in comparison with conventional activated sludge or other attached growth processes. This workbook includes worksheets for pre-anoxic denitrification and post-anoxic denitrification. Each of these worksheets calculates the tank volume needed for all three stages and oxygen/air/blower requirements for a coarse bubble aeration system for the BOD removal and nitrification stages. Alkalinity requirements and carbon source requirements are calculated for the post-anoxic process.
