| Sumario: | This Excel spreadsheet workbook makes design calculations for a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) wastewater treatment system. This workbook includes worksheets for: 1. User input information about the wastewater flow and characteristics and some design assumptions, 2. BOD removal and nitrification calculations, 3. BOD removal, nitrification and denitrification calculations. Based on user input values for the duration of each component of the SBR cycle along with the wastewater flow and characteristics values, the spreadsheet calculates the required dimensions for either rectangular or circular tanks and it uses biological kinetics equations and mass balances to check on the adequacy of the design for nitrification and for denitrification. Aeration requirements are also calculated. |
