Sumario: | This video illustrates Application Example 307-1, in which the maximum allowable quantity (MAQ) of hazardous chemicals that can be stored in a Group F-1 occupancy is determined. When the MAQ is exceeded, the occupancy classification of buildings is no longer the most applicable occupancy classification but becomes Group H, and a number of additional code requirements becomes mandatory. It is therefore prudent to understand the MAQ limits and how control areas can be utilized to increase the permissible quantity of hazardous chemicals while maintaining the most applicable occupancy classification. The requirements are based on the 2015 International Building Code. |
