Sumario: | Public, political and scientific discourses shape the view of multi-home families and subjects. By means of binary logic, deficient constructions of families with migration experiences are designed, including real effects on those who are defined as "foreign", "different" or "not belonging". The members of the post-migrant generation were born and socialized locally, but are constantly receiving external addressing that they associate as non-domestic. On the one hand, this qualitative study reconstructs how migration movements constitute post-migrant society. On the other hand, the question of what meanings family migration and specific family memories and narratives have for the narrators of the post-migrant generation is investigated. As grandchildren of pioneers of labour migration, the so-called "guest work", they create post-migrant, multi-home life plans that cannot be limited to one place or social context. The biographical case reconstructions provide information about how remembering and narrating works in family memory, which narratives are passed on intergenerationally, adapted, changed or replaced by one's own memories. |
