Sumario:The Holbrook Years 2002-2007 chronicles the tenure ofKaren A. Holbrook, thirteenth president of The Ohio StateUniversity, from the extensive search process to her departure. Asthe thirteenth volume of history of presidents of The Ohio StateUniversity, it includes the personal and public life Holbrook, thefirst woman and research scientist to lead The Ohio StateUniversity. The OSU Board of Trustees and its presidential search committeefound in Holbrook's experience many reasons to invite her to leadOhio's flagship institution of higher education. Foremost amongthem was her familiarity with academic medicine, which they thoughtwould give her a special understanding of OSU's growing medicalcenter. She was particularly interested in fosteringmulti-disciplinary programs and emphasizing outreach viapre-collegiate programs.
