Nevertheless, some answers can be extrapolated from developments since the turn of the millennium. In order to allow a broad spectrum of different positions to be heard, Klaus Benesch takes a look at the topic not only from the perspective of reading research and literary studies. Asking questions about the changing role of reading and the humanities in the information age also calls for broadening the perspective into the realm of social and science policy.
