Sumario:Old Albanian Written Culture is dedicated to the Albanianologist and Balkan linguist Wilfried Fiedler, who died on September 11, 2019. The volume documents the results of the 6th Albanian Symposium, which was organized by the Department of Albanian Studies and the Chair of Comparative and Indo-European Linguistics (LMU Munich) together with the Institute for Linguistics and Literary Studies (ASA Tirana) on September 27th, 2019 in Buçimas (Albania). has. The focus is on the old Albanian written culture from the perspective of historical lexicography and diachronic cultural-philological research. This topic is therefore aimed on the one hand at the latest developments that are currently characterizing Albanology as an interdisciplinary research discipline, and on the other hand at the discussion and exchange of views in the empirically and theoretically well-founded determination of separate diachronic research areas in the age of digitization. Particular attention is paid to the procedure for the computer-controlled production of large data corpora from the inventory of the Old Albanian written culture, which is also the basis for the successful implementation of the ongoing Munich DFG project "Digital philological-etymological dictionary of Old Albanian (15th-18th century)” (LMU).
