| Notas: | "The present bibliography of French contributions to Mesoamerican studies aims to several purposes. For more than a century, Spanish, English and French were the three official languages of the International Congresses of Americanists. With this bibliographical essay, we wish, then, 1) to make an assessment of the existing situation; 2) to provide our colleagues with the most complete number of references and draw their attention on unknown contributions frequently illustrated with forgotten objects; the publications of our colleague Leonardo López Luján on the history of archaeology, related to the Great Temple of Mexico-Tenochtitlan, exemplify the importance of this approach; 3) to evaluate the contribution of the most recent formations; 4) last but not least, to insist upon the necessary confrontation of methods and points of view."--Page ii "We deliberately excluded from this bibliography catalogues from auction houses, for deontological reasons and considering that those pieces are often looted or the product of falsifications, the nebulous contributions on 2012, as well as on the extra-terrestrial origin of the Mayas. We also left aside novels and comics. We decided not to include MA thesis and unpublished reports, because of their inaccessibility. On line publications were also discarded, given their accessibility. Our corpus yet remains incomplete, particularly in anthropology. Several references lack pages or publishers."--Page iii |
