His systematic, didactic and orderly tone, away from the casuistic style of the great Roman jurists, captivated the Romanistics of the Renaissance and contributed to exalt a fame that Gaius had already gained since the fourth century among law scholars. More than one article of our Civil Code reproduces the content of the Institutions almost verbatim. |
