In Older and Wiser, mentoring expert Jean Rhodes draws on more than thirty years of empirical research to survey the state of the field. Her conclusions are sobering: there is little evidence that most programs-even those of the most renowned and trusted organizations-are truly effective. But there is much reason for hope. Rhodes shows that targeted, evidence-based approaches can create meaningful changes in teenagers' lives.
