The tour covers almost a decade of studies on secondary school, with a focus on the processes of inequality, the links between youth and adults, school coexistence and contemporary forms of political participation. Throughout the chapters an X-ray is drawn exploring the meanings of secondary school, as well as the expectations of young people about what happens in the school space, particularly in the aspects that they like and those that they would change , and the school rules are investigated by taking a tour that accounts for different forms of construction of citizenship. The authors appeal to different school situations to account for the ways in which generations are related today and for the construction of more rewarding school experiences; thus incorporating new discussions to the necessary debate on this cycle of our formal education.
