520 |a "WHAT COMES AFTER ENTANGLEMENT? considers the question of how to build a politics that recognizes the complexity of human entanglement but still finds ways for people to act. While it is politically and ethically important to recognize the inextricable entanglement of human and animal lives, ecological processes, and geopolitical inequalities, Eva Giraud argues that focusing on the irreducible complexity of relationality has often proven paralyzing, diffusing responsibilities in a way that has stymied political action. Drawing inspiration from forms of activism that seek to put non-anthropocentric theories of social justice into practice, Giraud proposes an "ethics of exclusion" as a way out of the impasse of relationality and entanglement. Her analysis shows how attention paid to who and what is excluded by systems, institutions, movements, and other materialized forms of entanglement offers us more effective avenues for political and ethical intervention"--  |c Provided by publisher.
