| Sumario: | This comprehensive book is concerned with the main ideas and problems of contemporary epistemology. Four sections cover the following topics: the nature and the history of epistemology, including its relationship with other areas of knowledge (e.g. logic, philosophy of science, psychology and cognitive science) and future directions in epistemological research; current themes in epistemology (knowledge, justification and related issues); the role of cognition in culture; some reflections on teaching the epistemology. The volume includes 25 articles by leading Polish philosophers in the field. The contributors were asked to provide up-to-date and balanced surveys of the specific issues in epistemology, with reference to substantial literature.
