The year 2016 marked the 80th anniversary of the famous phrase sowing oil, perhaps an emblematic phrase that invites us to reflect on the past, present and future of Venezuela, but that each government has also tried to interpret, shape and adapt. at its historical convenience. Oil rentism is deeply rooted in social, political and economic dynamics. In this sense, this book presents a collection of articles that collect visions, approaches and evidence, from different perspectives of Economic and Social Sciences, on Venezuela and its oil rentism. With this idea, the Institute of Economic and Social Research ?Dr. Rodolfo Quintero?, from the Central University of Venezuela, paid tribute to the famous phrase.
