This volume seeks philosophical clarity of modernity's enlightenment by beginning with Bacon, Descartes, and Hobbes. Consideration of Pascal, Spinoza, Leibniz, Hume, Rousseau, Lessing, and Kant - all philosophical critics, or reformers, of the Enlightenmentfurthers the study of its legacy by displaying its diversity.
