It describes what a butterfly is and how it develops; why butterflies are so varied and abundant in Colombia; why are scientists interested in them; and how the current threats to biodiversity affect them. And, by documenting the beauty, diversity, an decological importance of butterflies the editors hope to raise public awareness regarding the urgency to preserve forests, brush-woods, and vegetation where butterflies inhabit.
