Sumario:Today the classical style in music is defined primarily through the music of Haydn and Mozart. Such selective fascination has all but eclipsed the work of their contemporaries. This study focuses on one of the most talented of this group: Antonio Rosetti. Born and trained in Bohemia, Rosetti spent most of his creative life in Germany. Through a comprehensive discussion of Rosetti's life and an in-depth evaluation of his music, Murray shows Rosetti to be a composer who produced many imaginative and highly creative works of great beauty.
