It contains a basic pharmacological terminology and basic principles of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. The second part describes the main and adverse effects of the commonly used classes of medications. For better understanding, both generic and trade names of the drugs are provided. Drug classes are divided according to the human body systems in which they exert their effects or according to their main effects. Photographs of the medications illustrate selected groups and single drugs. Clinico-therapeutic remarks point to some important pharmacotherapeutic problems."-- |
