|a The proposed theory of four dialectically interrelated orientations of the intellect provides an evidence-supported perspective on cornerstones of human thought. It would, of course, be presumptuous to pretend that it is the only or final word on the subject. Four fundamental and interrelated intellectual orientations were found to characterize the thought of a global range of thinkers, disciplines, and cultures (Western, Eastern and African). This volume consists of a review of the four types in Western philosophy.
