Sumario:This study sets aid and development in its historical context, and shows the strong linkages between aid and development priorities on the one hand, and political realities and shifts on the other. It looks at different ideas about development (and concepts of 'developing' and 'developed' countries) and how aid can support development. It makes it clear that, ultimately, development is about the well-being of everyone, and of the planet, and must be addressed as a global issue.
