Sumario:The development of specific textures in materials occurs either naturally or by synthesis and processing using various methods. The presence of textures in materials manifests itself in the form of anisotropic properties; the understanding of which is indispensable to precise engineering design. In addition to conventional applications in structural materials, texture control has come to be practised in the form of functional materials.
