Whether mythical amazons, mediaeval authors or regular cannoneses, Renaissance monarchs, activists and academics, philosophers or politicians, such women have become trail-blazers in their fields, attempting to forge new epistemes through strategies of undoing, refashioning, rewriting or revising political and cultural concepts, practices and institutions.
