Sumario:These are selected papers from the 2012 International Conference on Industrial Design and Mechanical Power (ICIDMP2012), held in Huangshan, China. Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).They highlight the latest developments in the above fields. In particular, they cover the topics of Industrial and Engineering Design, Mechatronics, Automation and Control and impart a great deal of useful information concerning them. Selected by peer review for their originality, significance, and clarity, 115 papers examine such aspects of industrial design and mechanical power as designing communication projects for the aging population, the diagnosis of high oil temperature of the bearings based on oil analysis techniques, a strategy for designing a monitor for intelligent industrial processing based on multi-agents, the effect of sunroofs and side windows on aerodynamic characteristics of a transit bus, aerodynamic noise characteristics for the control valve of a steam turbine, safety research for face recognition based on image features and digital watermarking, and a route selection mechanism for the mobility of nodes in mobile ad hoc networks.
