520 |a In this book, the issues regarding the theory of optics and quantum optics of spherical multilayered systems are studied. In such systems the spatial scale of layers becomes comparable with the wavelength of radiation, which complicates the analysis of important quantities such as reflectivity and transmission. Often, a large amount of time is spent on performing numerical calculations and simulation to elucidate the behavior of such electromagnetic properties. The author has written down the calculation details of important properties of multilayered microspheres in a more comprehensive manner, so that undergraduates and practitioners can follow them freely. From a skill-oriented point of view the book covers the following: electrodynamics of multilayered environments in the spherical geometry; methods of calculating both reflection and transmission coefficients from an alternating stack; calculations of elgenfrequencies and quality factors of electromagnetic oscillations; radial distribution of the electromagnetic field in a spherical cavity; computer methods of calculations with C++ as basic languages and construction of the graphic user interface (GUI); the object-oriented approach as a basis of the modern methods of calculation.
