| Sumario: | The present publication offers guidelines based on relevant medical publications, international recommendations and expert advice. It also presents the competencies required for a nuclear medicine trainee, as drawn from the syllabus for postgraduate specialization in nuclear medicine of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board and the Asian Board of Nuclear Medicine, among others. This publication puts forward a harmonized training programme for nuclear medicine physicians to allow trainees to develop the necessary knowledge, competencies and skills to practice this medical specialty, and to ensure the safe, high quality practice of clinical nuclear medicine. |
