  • Select a Data Source and Open the Data File. On the start page, under Connect, select a data source. For this example, click Excel. Double click on the data file. Set up the Connection*(We are not doing this for this project). If you are using more than one file, then you can join the two files. Click on "New Union" and decide how you will connect the file.; Start Analyzing the Data. Click on "Sheet 1" (next to the Data Source tab at the bottom of the screen). Verify that data are properly classified as dimensions (categorical data) or measures (metrics or numbers you want to analyze).
