His unfortunate fate, especially through Büchner, is still a hot topic of productive reception today. His works evade quick interpretations due to their formal and thematic complexity. The Lenz Handbook, in which well-known representatives of relevant research as well as young authors have worked, gives a comprehensive and differentiated picture of life and work.
