Denn weder kann die nur auf wenige Sprachzweige beschränkte Korrelation zwischen seinem morphologisch definierten Verbmodus und dem entsprechen strukturell determinierten Satztyp von den syntaktischen Bedingungen eines gängigen Verbanhebungsprozesses abgeleitet werden noch ist dessen vielfach zu beobachtende Negationsinkompatibilität allein mit den spezifischen Skopuseigenschaften der Satznegation erklärbar. Darüber hinaus entzieht sich seine kanonische Subjektlosigkeit scheinbar jeglichen grammatischen Bedingungen für Leer-Kategorien. In diesem Buch stellt sich die Autorin diesen und anderen mit dem imperativischen Modus und Satztyp verbunden Problemen und entwickelt dabei auf der Grundlage des minimalistischen Prinzipien- und Parametermodells eine umfassende syntaktische Theorie des Imperativs. Im Fokus ihrer Analyse liegt die strukturelle Repräsentation des imperativischen Modus und deren Entwicklung im Westgermanischen und Romanischen. Die Untersuchung von Imperativierungsprozessen anderer sowohl indoeuropäischer als auch nicht-indoeuropäischer Sprachen komplettiert und unterstützt ihre Analyse. | ||
