| Sumario: | The search for an explanation of the movement of the planet, the universe, and everything has been pursued since ancient times. The purpose of this paper is to provide an abstract formulation of the concept of a mechanical system which contains both the classical formulation and the quantum formulation as accepted formulations as special cases. The description of such a structure would clarify the relations between the two and illuminate the role of the correspondence principle in passing from one to the other. |
