Sumario:The book includes papers concerning the wide field of mechatronics. The papers deal with the theory and practice in the field of new materials, electromagnetic actuators, control and measurement systems, temperature calculation and numerical methods. The presented topics are up to date with the new technologies and connect to the problems arising in automotive industry, electric machines and material science. Informations included in the book could be used by the engineers and scientists working in the field of mechatronics and electrodynamics. Keyword: new materials, electromagnetic actuators, control and measurement systems, temperature calculation and numerical methods The 17 papers selected for the May 2013 conference held in Poland propose a gesture tracking algorithm for controlling an artificial arm, a lithium battery model for performance optimization, a simulator for testing engine control, and a dynamic model of an active magnetic bearing. Other topics include the influence of anisotropy on loss components in grain-oriented electrical steel, measurement of transients in a 5-phase permanent magnet tubular linear actuator, onboard combustion monitoring, and spatial field distribution in tapered wire. -- Electronic components and devices-- Engineering -- Electronics.
