Sumario:The Oxford Handbook of Language Production provides a multidisciplinary review of recent accomplishments in the investigation of the cognitive and brain mechanisms involved in language production. Contributions from psycholinguists, cognitive neuroscientists, and linguists review recent accomplishments in the field and offer researchers a wider perspective on investigations of this core aspect of human language processing. Chapters on spoken language production review behavioral, computational and neurobiological data on language processing in mono- and multilingual speakers at multiple levels of linguistic structure— from sentences to individual words, speech sounds and articulatory gestures, extending to discourse and the broader social context of speaking. Chapters from linguists provide an overview of key issues in linguistic structure at each of these levels of representation. Moving beyond speaking, additional chapters review spelling, sign language and the interface of production with other cognitive systems (monitoring, memory, gesture and speech perception).
