Sumario:The resource is written for tutors working with youth and adult learners in a variety of educational contexts. It aims to help tutors approach behavioural problems through meaningful self-evaluation and reflection. The skills required to implement change within problematic relationships and environments are described and a range of possible reasons as to `why learners behave in the way they do' are explored. This resource encourages tutors to move away from thinking about difficult or `bad' learners towards thinking about difficult relationships or environments. Separate chapters briefly look at the characteristics of youth and adult learners, and effective teaching strategies for each group. Table of contents: * Introduction: Behaviour and learning * Why should we include all students? * An exploration of why students behave in the way they do * The adolescent learner * Adult students * A framework for reflection and solution-focused approaches to problems.
