Sumario: | Blunting neoliberalism is, to our knowledge, the first book to consider the impact of tripartism across the developing world. Tripartism refers to the consultation and negotiation of public policies between government, business and labour. The volume covers eight case studies from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America, focusing on developments since the 1990s. These studies show that, when relatively strong, tripartism had the effect of reducing the social impact of neoliberal economic reforms, making reforms more equitable and politically sustainable.
