Sumario:On the causes of the properties of the elements. Albertus. Trans. by Irven M. Resnick. (Mediaeval philosophical texts in translation; no. 46)Resnick (Judaic studies, U. of Tennessee-Chattanooga) has translated several works by Saint Albertus Magnus (1193?-1280), and here presents Liber de causis proprietatum elementorum, a commentary on a work in Arabic that was mistakenly attributed to Aristotle during his time. He probably wrote it, says Resnick, in Cologne, where he had been sent by his Dominican order along with his student Thomas Aquinas. (Annotation ©2010 Book News Inc. Portland, OR).
