Descripción
Sumario:The American environmental justice movement (EJM) emerged as an organized social and political force in the 1980s. Since then, it has spread to other industrialized countries such as Canada and Britain. Environmental justice movements can also be found in numerous countries in the developing world. It did not take long for the EJM to become a global phenomenon as activists around the world sought to understand the relationship between environment, race/ethnicity and social inequality more clearly. The volume, Environment and Social Justice: An International Perspective, will examine domestic and international environmental issues from an environmental justice perspective. The book is a compilation of original research articles that range in scope from a focus on Michigan and the Great Lakes to national and international case studies. The volume is divided into six parts.
