|a Mit dieser Arbeit wird erstmals das literarische und literaturtheoretische Werk von Johann Jakob Bodmer (1698-1783) umfassend analysiert. So kann ein neues Profil des Meinungsfhrers der Zrcher Aufklrung entworfen werden, das die negativen Urteile der Literaturgeschichte revidiert. In biblischen Epen, politischen Dramen und Kinderschauspielen entwarf Bodmer Gesellschaftsmodelle, die auf Idealen wie Freundschaft und Menschenliebe beruhen. Viel radikaler als seine dichtenden Zeitgenossen erklrte er diese zur politischen Basis einer jeden Gesellschaft.
