Die Beiträger*innen versammeln sozialwissenschaftliche und philosophische Perspektiven auf aktuelle Nutzungsarten. Ihre These: Maschinelles Lernen sorgt für epistemische Verunsicherungen und rekonfiguriert die Bedingungen von Sozialität, während es sich gleichzeitig allzu schnellen Verstehensversuchen widersetzt. Diesen Problemen stehen neue Konzepte des maschinellen Lernens als eigenlogischer Forschungsgegenstand gegenüber. Zentral sind dabei sowohl Analysen konkreter Manifestationen der Verfahren in ihrer soziotechnischen Einbettung als auch kritische Reflexionen bestehender Charakterisierungen von KI.
